“Productivity is less about what you do with your time and more about what you do with you mind!”
Robin Sharma
At the time of writing this article it’s April 2023!
We’re one quarter down and three to go in 2023. This is a great time for reflection, making improvements and excitement about the rest of the year ahead.
Many of us want to become more effective and productive, it’s an area I’ve had to focus on myself in the past. With the modern age we have more distractions than ever before, we are almost constantly having to react to something, if we’re not in control.
I developed a series of half day and full day productivity workshops and coaching sessions and have tremendous success with business teams for clients of mine.
Here I share the Top 5 tips for Accelerating Productivity.
No 1 – Create a positive daily routine to start your day!
The routine should focus on generating positive energy and motivation right at the start of your day. If you can get yourself moving, feeling motivated, positive and energised at the start of each day, you have already created your own pole position – you’re ahead before you’ve begun!
No 2 – Get yourself into the right frame of mind!
Once your energy is flowing, now it’s time to direct your focus and your mindset. You can simply start by asking yourself a series of empowering and positive questions, i.e. What am I most grateful for in my life right now? What am I most excited about right now? How am I going to make the biggest impact today? By focusing your mind on positive outcomes right at the start of your day you set yourself up to be as effective as possible.
No 3 – Manage your energy throughout the day!
Maintaining positive momentum throughout the day, is all about managing your energy and your focus, the two are linked. Once you take note of your energy levels throughout the day and focus on keeping them high, it transforms your productivity (and performance). It’s as simple as; taking frequent short breaks, walking on your lunch break, limiting the time for each task, noticing when you feel low and recharging. Once you become aware and put measures in place, they are incredibly effective.
No 4 – Prioritise your tasks at the start of each day!
Before you make a start on your day, check your diary and your task list. Spend 10 minutes reviewing, assessing and prioritising the list. Understand the difference between what’s important and what isn’t! Number the tasks in order. Then work through them one by one in order of importance. What you’ll find by taking this approach is that even if you don’t complete your list, because you’ve worked on the most important tasks, you feel (and you are) much more productive – you’re doing what really matters!
No 5 – Eliminate Distractions in advance!
Maybe this should be Number 1! Before you start on any of your important tasks make sure you pro-actively manage any potential distractions. Turn off any alerts, set your voicemail, shut down email, close any web-pages and tell colleagues you’re not to be disturbed for an hour or so. Just this approach to managing distractions can double your productivity!
I wish you every success in implementing these into your working life, with focus and persistence they will transform your performance!

Whether you’re new to sales, an experienced sales professional or a leader looking to improve the consistency and performance of your sales organisation, you’ll gain immense value from these articles, the scorecard and the INSPIRE, INFLUENCE, SELL book. Our systems map out a memorable sales process over several steps and also include mastery content for each stage of the system, which will give you deeper insight and expertise. The combination of foundational and specialist material ensures that no matter where you’re starting from, you can become a skilled salesperson.
You might want to work through these articles at the foundational level and return to the Sales Mastery sections once you get to grips with the overall system and have developed your skills. Each article starts with an experience story in which I share relevant, valuable anecdotes. If you prefer to dive straight into the sales system, you can skip that content. These articles are designed to be accessible and flexible, so that you get the most out of them.
As you work through each stage, I suggest you make notes in a journal or notebook. This will help you learn and adopt the content.
